Keep a brand character consistent across a series

Fix the identifying features first, then vary scene, expression and use one decision at a time.

Define the character invariants

A series needs a stable silhouette, palette, proportion and signature detail. Start with a short character sheet: front and side shapes, feature placement, accessories, material and forbidden changes. Only then move to posters, stickers or product scenes.

Change one variable class at a time

When costume, color, camera and setting all change together, drift is hard to diagnose. Test expressions on a neutral pose, then test settings with the character held constant. Use a successful frame as a reference.

Let placement determine action

An onboarding page needs a clear welcome gesture; package art needs a silhouette legible at small size; a story poster can carry more context. Specify the final placement so every image does not become a standalone character portrait.

Review as a series

Place equal-size images side by side and compare shape, color, proportions, props and expression. Add brand names, slogans and legal marks in a separate layout pass, with rights and trademark review.

Define what must stay constant before designing variation for each medium.
