Design product lighting around recognition

Define the silhouette, material, use context and light separately to make commercial imagery easier to read.

Decide what must register first

A product image should usually identify the object before it builds atmosphere. List the bottle shape, package structure, color and count that must stay accurate. Then choose camera distance, orientation and negative space. Do not let props or liquid cover essential front-facing information.

Let light explain material

Glass needs edge highlights and transmission; metal needs legible reflections; paper packaging needs folds and thickness. Describe the key light, fill and background brightness as a system instead of stacking words such as “premium” or “cinematic.”

Control visual causality

Fruit beside a drink should support flavor or use context rather than replace the focal point. A splash needs a plausible source and direction, and reflections should agree with the light. Compare a clean product image with a dynamic variant before choosing one.

Distinguish concept from listing asset

Generated images help explore composition, but a model must not invent brand marks, ingredients, volume or compliance copy. Production advertising needs verified product data, usage rights and human review.

Lock the product identity first; let lighting, props and motion serve it.
